Mason has big attractions and still feels like a small city.
Kings Island in your backyard
One of the Midwest's best-known amusement parks sits on Mason's east side. Locals buy season passes and treat it like a neighborhood hangout, from Halloween Haunt in the fall to WinterFest lights in December.
World-class tennis every August
The Lindner Family Tennis Center hosts the Cincinnati Open, a combined ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event. A $260 million renovation in 2025 added a new clubhouse and a sunken Champions Court.
An easy I-71 commute
Mason sits right on I-71 between Cincinnati and Dayton. Downtown Cincinnati, the Kenwood/Blue Ash office corridor and Dayton-area employers are all within a normal commute.
A real downtown
Downtown Mason's plaza hosts the Heritage Festival & Parade in September and the city's tree lighting in December, with local shops and restaurants just around the corner.

Parks & recreation
Getting outside in Mason
Trails, lakes, courts and fields, run by the city's own park district.
Heritage Oak Park
Mason's largest park, 79 acres, with soccer, softball, tennis, basketball and eight dedicated pickleball courts.
Pine Hill Lakes Park
Nature trails and a lake stocked with fish March through October: trout in spring and fall, catfish in summer. Get a fishing pass at the Community Center.
Mason Community Center
The city's recreation hub, with fitness facilities, programs and classes, and fishing and park passes.

Quinn Park, Meadows Park, Corwin M. Nixon Park and Frank Hosea Woods round out the Mason park district.

Mason schools
Mason City Schools serves roughly 10,000 students in four buildings: Mason Early Childhood Center, Mason Elementary, Mason Intermediate and William Mason High School. William Mason is the largest high school in Ohio by enrollment.
